ISLAMABAD: Islamabad IG Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has not taken charge of his post despite the passage of four days.
The Establishment Division had issued a notification of his posting as IG Police Islamabad on March 29. He is currently posted as DIG Operations Lahore. According to sources, the Punjab government has refused to relieve him. Sources in the Establishment Division said that due to Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi’s non-joining, a new panel of names will now be sent to the federal cabinet.
According to sources, the names of Sarfaraz Ahmad Falki, RPO Gujranwala, Rana Ayaz Salim and RPO Rawalpindi Babar Sarfaraz Alpa are being considered for the post. Sarfaraz Ahmed Falki is likely to be appointed as IG as he has previously served as DIG Headquarters and DIG Safe City Islamabad.
