Senior journalist at The News grieved

Iqbal Hussain, senior journalist and husband of The News Editor Supplements Sheherbano, passed away in the early hours of Saturday. He had been ill for some days and admitted to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases. He was laid to rest on Saturday. A large number of media workers attended his funeral.

President of Karachi Union of Journalists – Workers and general secretary of Jang employees union Shakil Yamin Kanga, All Pakistan Newspapers Employees Confederation (Apnec) chairman Siddique Anzar, APNEC vice chairman and Javed Press general secretary Rana Muhammad Yousuf, and APNEC secretary general and The News employees union general secretary Dara Zafar offered condolences over the passing away of Hussain.

Other leaders of media workers including Saeed Mohiuddin, Ejaz Ahmed, Rishad Mehmood and PFUJ President GM Jamali also expressed grief and prayed for the departed soul.

In a statement, Karachi Press Club President Saeed Sarbazi and other office-bearers of the club said they shared grief with Sheherbano and other bereaved family members. They prayed for mercy on Hussain.
