PSB officer suffers cardiac arrest at ministry office
ISLAMABAD: One of the senior officers of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) collapsed at the offices of Ministry for Inter-Provincial the other day as he was extended cold shoulder by the ministry’s officials on the promotion cases under consideration.
Muhammad Waheed (Director Admin) was later taken to a nearby hospital where he was diagnosed with cardiac complications. Later a surgery was conducted on the official where a stent was inserted in his artery. The PSB official was recovering after the surgery.
One of the PSB officials, who was accompanying Waheed at the time of the heart attack, said that there was none to help the patient out. “The three PSB officials accompanying Waheed taken every possible step to help the patient reach the nearby hospital as he was fighting for his life,” one of the officials, when contacted, said. All the efforts to get the ministry official’s point of view on the apparent stress the official has gone through went fruitless.
“One of the PSB officials broke down within the ministry office the other day, suffering a heart attack following what his colleagues said was undue pressure exerted on him by some of the ministry officials. Please let ‘The News’ know your side of the story,” the WhatsApp message sent to the ministry’s top official (secretary) by this correspondent, said.
Despite repeated efforts, no answer came on both occasions. The message was dully read on both occasions. Waheed is still in the hospital. Surprisingly, the majority of the concerned PSB officials visited the hospital to know his wellbeing but no ministry official took the pain to know Waheed’s post-surgery recovery till Thursday evening.
