PESHAWAR: The presence of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur at the iftar dinner with orphan children in the Alkhidmat Aghosh Home doubled the happiness of the inmates of the orphanage at the event to mark the World Orphans Day.
The speech delivered by the chief minister became a source of attraction for everyone as he spoke about avoiding political differences for the cause of the people and assured all out support to the management of Alkhidmat Foundation in the noble cause of serving the downtrodden segments of the society.
Provincial ministers for health and higher education Qasim Ali Shah and Meena Khan Afridi, president of the foundation Khalid Waqas Chamkani, former provincial minister and JI’s deputy chief Inayatullah Khan, chief cleric of the province Maulana Tayyeb Qureshi, Alkhidmat’s general secretary Shakir Ahmad Siddique, district president Arbab Abdul Haseeb, administrator of Aghosh Home Zahor Ahmad and others attended the event. In his speech as chief guest, Ali Amin Gandapur appreciated the organisers of the event for inviting him, saying that serving the needy humanity was the real service which would earn them reward in the hereafter.
He assured full support to the foundation for care of the orphans. He assured that not only land would be provided to the foundation where needed for establishment of orphanages throughout the province but donors would also be attracted for the purpose.
“The is the real investment. We all must have a share in it,” he said.
He stressed the political boundaries would not hinder his way in serving the people of the province. He said that they certainly do politics but this should be restricted to election days. After election, whoever becomes the ruler, he should serve all the people irrespective of political affiliations, the chief minister remarked.
Other speakers said that currently the country had some 4.6 million orphans and it was the responsibility of everyone to serve them in a bid to make them useful citizens of the society.
