Jim and Tonic wins Queen Elizabeth-II Challenge Cup
LAHORE: The Lahore Race Club witnessed an exhilarating display of talent and determination as Jim and Tonic, the winner of the Pakistan Derby 2024, in a spectacular showdown with Pakistani Star reaffirmed its dominance by clinching victory in the Queen Elizabeth-II Challenge Cup on Sunday.
The day’s racing spectacle also featured standout performances in the Syed Wajid Ali Shah Memorial Cup and the Pakistan Day Cup, with Black Platinum and Trigger emerging as victors, respectively. However, the day was not without its surprises, as upsets were delivered by Vartika, Sehar and Big Dream in their respective races.
The day’s events kicked off with an upset in the opening race, as Vartika outpaced the competition to claim victory, leaving Jalthal and Desert Parri trailing in second and third places, respectively.
In the second race, Handsome lived up to its billing as the favourite, securing victory with ease. However, Mumraiz Love’s surprise second-place finish and Dur-e-Adan’s third-place performance added an element of unpredictability to the proceedings.
