Shehla approves names for national hockey camp

The event will be held in Malaysia in May

KARACHI: The newly elected PHF president Shehla Raza has said that for the preparation of Sultan Azlan Shah hockey tournament, the training camp of Pakistan hockey team would be held in Quetta after Eidul Fitr.

The event will be held in Malaysia in May. She was addressing her first press conference after assuming the charge of PHF president, at Abdul Sattar Edhi hockey stadium on Thursday.

She said that Olympian Shahnaz Sheikh would be the camp commandant. The PHF president promised that the salaries of PHF employees delayed for last seven months would be paid within a week.

“I have issued instructions to Secretary General PHF Haider Hussain in this regard. The affairs of the Pakistan Hockey Federation were being run in an unprofessional manner. Orders have been issued for the preparation of the website of Pakistan Hockey Federation,” she said.

Shehla approved the names of players for the training camp on the recommendations of the Selection Committee Chairman Olympian Kaleemullah and members Olympian Nasir Ali, Olympian Rahim Khan and Laeeq Lashari.
