PFF announces squad for Jordan FIFA World Cup qualifiers
LAHORE: Pakistan on Sunday unveiled a 24-member men’s football team for the home and away legs against Jordan in connection with the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers second round Group G.
Both nations will clash each other on March 21 at the Jinnah Stadium Islamabad at 2pm while on March 26 the outing between the two will be held in Jordan.
Denmark-based defender Mohammad Fazal is a new inclusion in the squad. England-based midfielder Adil Nabi was also expected to be part of the squad but he could not make it due to unknown reasons.
Otis Khan, who had captained the side against Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan, is not available due to ankle injury.
“Yes, he is suffering from an ankle injury,” a well-placed source told The News. Birmingham-born centre-back Easah Suliman, the captain, who had missed the previous two matches against Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan due to injury, is back in the side. As many as eight diaspora players are part of the squad.
