PSCC acting principal takes charge

The chief commissioner also ordered the institution of a committee to probe charges of the irregularities

MANSEHRA: The senior faculty member, Naseer Ahmad, on Friday assumed the charge of acting principal of the Pakistan Scout Cadet College (PSCC) Batrasi.The chief commissioner of the Pakistan Boys Scouts Association, and chairman of the Board of Governors of PSCC Batrasi, Sarfaraz Qamar Daha, ordered an inquiry against the former acting head Tauquirul Islam for his alleged involvement in the grass irregularities.

Around 200 children of expatriate Pakistanis settled in different countries around the world have also been studying at PSCC, the only educational institution in the country functioning under the Pakistan Boys Scouts Association.

The chief commissioner also ordered the institution of a committee to probe charges of the irregularities. Daha also suspended Islam from his faculty position as a senior teacher until the committee, which would be named later by his office, wrapped up the probe against him.

A group of parents appealed to President Asif Ali Zardari, the Chief Scout of Pakistan, to personally look into the affairs of the PSCC, appoint principal and increase parents’ seats in the Board of Governors.
