Efforts urged to boost agriculture in KP
PESHAWAR: Provincial Minister for Agriculture Muhammad Sajjad on Monday said agriculture was the backbone of the economy, therefore, the officials of the department should spare no effort to boost this sector and make the province self-sufficient in production.
According to a handout, he said this while presiding over a meeting of the Agriculture Department here.Secretary Agriculture Javed Marwat, DGs of all wings of the department and other relevant officers attended the meeting.
The minister said the land in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was fertile, so we need to pay special attention to the agricultural sector.
He said that officers should use their skills to adopt a comprehensive strategy to make Khyber Pakhtunkhwa self-sufficient in wheat crop.
The minister said the agricultural scientists should use their expertise to boost the production of crops. The minister said that no effort would be spared to make the province self-sufficient by developing the agriculture sector.
