New traffic diversion plan for PSL matches announced
The Karachi Traffic Police announced a new traffic diversion plan on Friday for the upcoming PSL matches at the National Stadium Karachi.
Officials acknowledged that the public had been encountering difficulties reaching their destinations due to security cordons. In response, a meeting was convened with the Security Division, resulting in the finalization and reassessment of security protocols and cordons, along with the issuance of a traffic diversion plan for the public.
According to the diversion plan issued by the Karachi Traffic Police, “During the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 matches at the National Bank Stadium (National Stadium), Karachi, Sir Shah Suleiman Road will remain open for traffic.” Additionally, Karachi Traffic Police has devised a special traffic plan for cricket fans regarding parking arrangements.
Parking lots and routes
National Coaching Centre/China Ground Parking: Visitors arriving from Karsaz should park at the National Coaching Centre and China Ground on Sir Shah Suleiman Road via Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah Road and Stadium Flyover.
Visitors coming from New Town should park at the National Coaching Centre/China Ground on Sir Shah Suleiman Road, to the left after Aga Khan Hospital, via Stadium Road (Pir Sabghatullah Shah Rashidi Road).
Parking space at the Expo Centre has been expanded for Karachi citizens. Fans can park their vehicles at the Expo Center and utilize shuttle services to reach the National Stadium.
Heavy traffic diversion
Entry of heavy traffic from Stadium Signal to Hassan Square will be prohibited. Alternative routes include Sohrab Goth to Nipa, Liaquatabad No. 10 towards Hasan Square, University Road from PP Chowrangi, and from Karsaz to Stadium and Millennium to New Town.
The public is urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and the traffic police to avoid inconvenience. Adhere to the provided instructions and refrain from parking vehicles on service roads or main roads, utilizing designated parking lots instead.
