Man commits suicide after killing his son

LAHORE:A man committed suicide after shooting dead his son over a domestic dispute inFactory Area. Reportedly, a youth identified as Eric Maseeh was constructing a lantern of a house situated at LDA Quarters. His father Khushi Maseeh asked him to stop the work but he did not listen to him. Khushi was so frustrated that he after exchange of few harsh words shot him dead. Soon after, he also committed suicide by shooting himself. Their bodies were moved to morgue. Police said that they were investigating the matter further.

Dacoity, murder case resolved, suspects arrested

Sattokatla Police have traced a blind dacoity with murder case within 24 hours and arrested four suspects. SP Sadar Sidra Khan shared during a press conference that an accomplice of the suspects had entered into the house of the victim Asif in disguise of a masseur. He made him sleep through massage. When the victim fell asleep, the masseur invited three of his accomplices. As they were busy in looting spree, the victim woke up and started making a noise. The suspects stabbed him to death with pistol and fled with vehicles and other valuables worth over 10 million rupees. The arrested suspects were identified as Mirza Ahmad, Ahmad, Imran and Sunny Rider. Police said that they were investigating the matter further.

Valuables worth millions gutted in three fire incidents

Valuables worth millions of rupees were gutted in three fire incidents in the City. A fire broke out in the Pace Shopping Centre on Link Model Town Road. The incident was reported in the morning at around 10 am.

In a short span of time, it turned into a huge fire. As many as nine vehicles and 20 rescuers took part in the operation. It took them over two hours to control the fire. In less than two years, this is the second incident of fire in Pace Shopping Centre.

In March 2022, hundreds of shops were damaged in a fire in the multi-storey building of the mall situated at Gulberg Main Boulevard. It was shifted to the current location, Link Model Town Road after 2022 fire incident case.

Earlier, at around 1.20 am, a fire had broken out in tyre godown in MT Workshop at Ferozpur Road. Reportedly, the fire broke out in the godown of motor and transport workshop of Punjab Police.

In a short span of time, it turned into a huge fire because the tires are highly inflammable material. Over nine vehicles and 50 Rescuers of Rescue 1122 fire fighting wing launched the rescue operation.

Initially, two water bowsers had been engaged to control the fire. As the intensity of the fire had multiplied, eight more water bowsers including of Parks and Horticultural Authority (PHA) and Wasa took part in the fire extinguishing process.

It took three and a half hour to control the fire. SSP Nida Chatha said that the fire had erupted in the used tires. She said that they were investigating the reasons behind it. In another fire incident, a fire broke out in waster material in Railway Workshops Mughalpura. An incident of fire was also reported in a house situated at Lawrence Road.

Road accidents

At least 15 people died, whereas 1,359 were injured in 1,271 road accidents in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Out of these, 604 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 755 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams. Motorbikes were involved in majority (73%) of road accidents. Furthermore, the analysis showed those 731 drivers, 44 underage drivers, 185 pedestrians, and 458 passengers were among the victims of road traffic crashes.
