LAHORE:A significant progress has been made in the murder case of Tipu Truckanwala's son Amir Balaj Tipu on Thursday.
According to the details, Halima Bibi, the fourth wife of Muzaffar Hussain, the killer of Amir Balaj, has given an initial statement to the police according to which Muzaffar had been employee of accused Tareef alias Teefi Butt for the last 25 years.
On the other hand, the police obtained the travel documents of Teefi Butt, the accused named in the Balaj murder case, according to which Teefi Butt fled abroad from Islamabad Airport on February 19.
Sources say that the police will contact the Ministry of Interior to obtain a red warrant for the arrest of Teefi Butt and the police investigation team related to the case will contact Interpol after getting red warrant.
Sources say that Aqeel alias Gogi Butt, the other accused named in the FIR, has gone in hiding in Pakistan while Gogi’s four gunmen have been detained by the police. Police sources further inform that 500 calls have been shortlisted by geo-fencing the incident, to reach the accused as soon as possible.
Sources further say that Gogi Butt's name has been put in the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL) in the Amir Balaj murder case. The FIA and the police have named the accused and alerts have been issued at airports for arrest. In this regard, police officials say that the raids are being conducted to arrest Gogi Butt.
