CM summons cabinet’s farewell meeting
The cabinet meeting will be held in the Committee Room of CM office
LAHORE:Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has summoned the farewell meeting of caretaker Punjab Cabinet today (Friday).
The cabinet meeting will be held in the Committee Room of CM office. It will be the 42nd Punjab Cabinet meeting. All provincial ministers, advisers, chief secretary, IG Police, Chairman P&D Board, SMBR and all secretaries will attend the meeting.
Naqvi meets Kakar
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar held a farewell meeting with the caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The CM paid tributes to the PM on the government steps being undertaken for the economic stability in the country under his dynamic leadership. The PM lauded the steps being undertaken by the caretaker CM for the progress of every department of Punjab especially in the health, education and communication sectors in a short span of time.
Holds farewell meetings with envoys of US, Turkiye
The caretaker chief minister's farewell meetings continued on Thursday. He met US Consul General Ms Kirstin K Hawkins and the Consul General of Turkiye Mr Durmus Bastug separately. Both of them congratulated the CM on being elected as the PCB Chairman. The CM extended an invitation to the diplomats to watch PSL-9 cricket match. The US Consul General presented a cricket ball gift to the CM and lauded the successful holding of PSL-9. The CM thanked the US Consul General on extending maximum assistance in various sectors during the last 13 months and on presenting him a cricket ball gift. The US Consul General while appreciating the CM for undertaking steps for allocating a piece of land for the US Consulate in the Diplomatic Enclave acknowledged that the Punjab government's team has duly delivered under the CM's leadership. Mohsin Naqvi also presented a special report to the US Consul General with regard to upgradation of the hospitals across Punjab.
The US Consul General appreciated the hospitals upgradation programme, adding that she paid a visit to the Business Facilitation Centre in Lahore and undoubtedly it is a praiseworthy step of the Punjab government. The CM apprised that T20 World Cup is going to be held in USA during the current year. Hopefully, the Pakistan Cricket Team will perform better. Later, Consul General of Turkiye acknowledged the public services of Mohsin Naqvi. The CM thanked the Turkiye's Consul General for promoting bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Launches Maskan-e-Ravi project
The allotment process of awarding plots to more than 1,400 journalists in the RUDA's Maskan-e Ravi project has been launched. The distribution of allotment letters to the journalists was initiated by the Provincial Minister for Information Amir Mir. The allotment letters distribution ceremony was held at the Alhamra Arts Council.
RUDA Chief Imran Amin and DGPR Rubina Afzal participated in the ceremony.
Provincial Minister for Information Amir Mir on being the spokesman to the CM stated that the distribution process of the allotment letters was started for those journalists who duly fulfil the laid down criteria adding that Mohsin Naqvi fulfilled his last promise being made with the journalist community.
Amir Mir apprised that a high-level scrutiny committee after undergoing a lengthy scrutiny finalised the list of eligible journalists who are being awarded these allotment letters.
Furthermore, the chief minister visited the Head Office of Punjab Information Technology Board at the Arfa Karim Software Technology Park. He commended the PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf and his whole team on showing exemplary performance. The CM also distributed commendation certificates among the officers displaying meritorious performance and lauded the performance of the whole PITB team on undertaking numerous steps for the facilitation of the people. Mohsin Naqvi announced a special prize of R30 million for the whole PITB team.
The CM stated that he gives full credit to the PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf on successful accomplishment of all the public welfare projects.
