Ex-candidate office attacked in Bajaur
KHAR: Unidentified miscreants attacked the office of a former independent candidate for the recent general election with hand-grenade in Umaray area in Mamond tehsil in Bajaur tribal district, police said on Wednesday.
They said that unknown miscreants lobbed a hand-grenade into Malik Khalid Khan’s office situated inside a filling station in Umaray area in Mamond tehsil at night, which exploded with a big bang.
However, no casualty was reported in the explosion.He was an independent candidate for PK-19 and remained runner up with 13, 591 votes.The police have registered a case and started an investigation.
It may be mentioned that unknown persons had also planted an improvised explosive device to target his vehicle in Belot area of Mamond tehsil on January 30 last.However, the personnel of the police and Bomb Disposal Unit defused the IED before it could be triggered.
