Rabble rousing
It is unfortunate to note that intolerance and polarization are running rampant in the country. Our politicians have played a considerable role in augmenting these menaces manifold through their false, fictitious, and highly inflammable narratives. This tactic tends to peak during election season.
But the heart of the matter is that all these narratives seem to be utterly devoid of logic and tend to be built on unfounded grounds to lure and cox supporters.
However, there is no denying the fact that Pakistanis remain captivated by these narratives, which often challenge the unfair status-quo and promise to free them from the clutches of the elite. Now that the elections are over it is high time to nurture a culture of mutual coexistence and foster a civic sense to accommodate opposing and conflicting ideas. This, and not tall tales meant to anger and smear, is what will take the country forward.
