Physically-challenged man dies in house fire

LAHORE:A 75-year-old physically-challenged man died in a fire incident in the Shad Bagh area. Reportedly, a fire broke out in a house situated in Hazuri Bagh. The victim identified as Yaqub Butt was trapped into the flames. Nearby people called rescue teams. Fire-fighters reached the spot on information, extinguished the fire and evacuated the victim. However, he had received serious burn injuries and died.

15 die in road accidents in 24 hours

Around 15 people died, whereas 1,314 were injured in 1,214 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 609 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 705 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.

Suspect killed in encounter

A suspected robber was killed while his two accomplices injured in a police encounter in the Green Town area. Reportedly, a police team had set up a picket where they signaled to stop four motorcyclists.

However, the suspects resorted to firing and sped up. In exchange of firing, two suspects received bullet injuries and two of them fled the scene. A suspect died and the other was arrested and shifted to hospital. The deceased suspect was identified as Adeel and injured as Mudassar.

Girl commits suicide

A 17-year-old girl reportedly committed suicide after jumping off seventh floor of a plaza on Bedian Road. Rescue 1122 received a call on Rescue 1122 that a victim had jumped off seventh floor of a plaza in a housing scheme. A police team rushed to the spot and removed the body to morgue.

Man hit to death

A 50-year-old man died after being hit by a speeding train in the Badami Bagh area. The unidentified victim was trying to cross the railway lines but was hit by a speeding train. He received injuries and died. His body was moved to morgue.
