Tariq Wazir to head FPCCI oil panel

KARACHI: Tariq Wazir Ali, chairman of the Oil Marketing Association of Pakistan (OMAP), has been named as the convener and chairman of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI)'s central standing committee on the oil marketing sector, a statement said on Wednesday.

Wazir thanked the FPCCI for their confidence in him and vowed to work hard to fulfil their expectations. He also pledged to cooperate with the oil sector’s business community to promote its interests and protect its collective goals, stressing the motto of ‘One Team One Vision’.

“With the formation of a competent team, we aim to effectively address key issues such as sales tax, turnover tax, and regulatory concerns, fostering positive outcomes and mutual success through our unified vision and collaborative efforts,” Wazir said.

He expressed hope for the improvement of the business climate and increased investment in the sector with the arrival of the new government. “The petroleum sector is the lifeblood of the country’s economy, and I am committed to working closely with my team members and regulatory bodies to ensure a smooth path towards achieving its objectives.”
