Political family nominated in ex-MPA’s murder case

The police, however, have initiated an investigation to ascertain the facts

RAWALPINDI: An eminent political family of Rawalpindi has been nominated in the first information report (FIR) for their involvement in the killing of former Member Punjab Assembly (MPA), Chaudhry Adnan Khan, who was gunned down by two bike-riding gunmen on Monday.

The Civil Line Police have registered an FIR against the leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) and former senator Chaudhry Tanvir, his newly elected son Member of National Assembly, Chaudhry Daniyal in NA-57, other son and ex-MPA Chaudhry Usama Tanvir, brother former vice president Cantt. Board Chaklala, Chaudhry Changaiz Khan and one of his friends, Mohammad Luqman, under Section 302/34 PPC on the complaint of Chaudhry Nadeem Iqbal, brother-in-law of the deceased.

The complainant, telling the cause of the killing, said that they had fallen into land-related controversy that resulted in the murder of Chaudhry Adnan.

While, the accused party has snubbed the allegations, saying that he along with his family has wrongly been implicated in the murder case. The police, however, have initiated an investigation to ascertain the facts.
