Hundreds of party workers blocked the Miranshah-Mir Ali and Miranshah-Dattakhel roads to register their protest. The activists of the Mohsin Dawar-led party and members of his tribe Darapakhel participated in the protest in large numbers. The protesters also marched from the Tablighi Markaz to the Miranshah Press Club.

Addressing the protesters, local leaders of National Democratic Movement, including Adil Dawar, Saifullah Dawar, Syed Noor, Sher Wali and others, said Mohsin Dawar had lost the seat, but the losing candidate was declared as the winner. They said that innocent people were killed when the police opened fire on the protesters. The protesters said that the people of Waziristan had been deprived of their representation in the National Assembly. Demanding investigation into the firing incident, they said that the perpetrators should be brought to justice.

DSP Syed Jalal arrived at the spot and tried to persuade the protesters to disperse peacefully. He said that he belonged to the area and did not want any bloodshed. He clarified that no police official was killed or injured in the firing incident.

It may be recalled that two people were killed and six others, including Mohsin Dawar, sustained injuries in a firing incident as his party workers were protesting the alleged rigging results in North Waziristan. Mohsin Dawar was a candidate for National Assembly constituency NA-40.
