Two federal secretaries’ services extended

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has extended the services of two federal secretaries.

The government gave a six-month extension to Senior Consultant Raja Naeem Akbar as Federal Secretary Law and Justice from February 8 and three-month extension to Additional Secretary Syed Attaur Rehman as federal secretary, Ministry of Religious Affairs with effect from January 30.

The government has transferred Additional Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Works, Waqas Ali Mahmood, a BPS-21 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), and posted him as Additional Secretary National Food Security and Research. Another BPS-21 officer of PAS, Amna Imran Khan, who was serving as additional secretary Inter-Provincial Division, has been directed to report to the Establishment Division, which also issued notifications directing two Joint Secretaries Fayyazul Haq and Ghulam Farooq to report to it. Meanwhile, the Establishment Division has sent an office memorandum to all ministries and divisions in Islamabad and chief secretaries of the four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, seeking nominations of officers to attend the Mid-Career Management Course (MCMC). The course, to be held from April 29 to July 5, is mandatory for promotion from BPS-18 to 19.
