PPP emerges as largest party in Balochistan

In 2008, the PPP formed the government along with allies with Aslam Raisani as the CM

LAHORE: After Sindh, the Pakistan Peoples Party has emerged as the largest party in Balochistan where it has attained 9 seats, followed by 8 of PMLN. The JUIF has also won 6 seats and it is expected to win one more till the finalisation of result.

So far, five PTI backed Independents have also emerged victorious whereas amongst others, National Party has grabbed 5, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has attained four followed by Balochistan National Party (BNP) and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) with two seats each.

Awami National Party (ANP) has won 2 whereas Jamaat-e-Islami, Haq Do Tehreek-e-Balochistan and BNP-A have grabbed one seat each. To form the government, a party needs the support of at least 26 MPAs and three parties, including PPP, PMLN, JUIF can comfortably form the coalition government.

In 2008, the PPP formed the government along with allies with Aslam Raisani as the CM. Most of the PPP MPAs who have won the 2024 elections have recently joined the party after the visit of PPPP head Asif Ali Zardari.
