The 8th edition of Faiz Festival kicks off
LAHORE:The 8th three-day Faiz Festival started here at Lahore Arts Council Alhamra on Friday. Delegates from Pakistan and foreign countries participated in the opening ceremony.
More than 50 works of art by 38 artists were displayed in the exhibition ‘Dil na-Umid To Nahi’ based on the work of women artists of Pakistan. Faiz's speech was presented on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition, which was immensely liked by the audience. In the opening ceremony, the Executive Director of Alhamra Tariq Mehmood Chaudhry described the prominent role of Alhamra in enhancing the beauty of Faiz Festival.
Renowned artist Salima Hashmi, Indian artists Dr Malia, Arvind Chamka, Owais Bala, Iqbal Fareed also expressed their views in the event. Adeel Hashmi performed the duties of organiser. The second day of the festival will include discussions, outdoor performances, theatre, Qawwali, food stalls, cultural items and clothing stalls, drum circle, open mic and many other activities.
