NAB DG among several officials transferred

ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Wednesday made reshuffle in bureaucracy just a day before general elections.

Director General National Archives of Pakistan Naveed Allauddin who is BPS-22 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) has been transferred with directions to report to the Establishment Division.

Muhammad Deen Chachar, a BPS-20 officer of Secretariat Group who was waiting for posting has been appointed Director General of National Archives of Pakistan.

A BPS-21 officer of PAS, Saadia Sarwat Javed who was serving as Director General at the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary at Climate Change Division.

A BPS-19 officer of Secretariat Group, Shafqat Ali Chachar who was serving at Special Investment Facilitation Council has been given new assignment of Deputy Secretary Interior.

A BPS-19 officer of Information Group Bushra Bashir from Press Information Department (PID) Islamabad was made Director PID Quetta.

Meanwhile, the federal government decided to appoint a BPS-18 officer of PAS, Rana Waqas Anwar as Administrator Metropolitan Corporation (MCI).

According to sources, the federal cabinet approved a summary from the Interior Division through circulation in this regard.

Rana Waqas Anwar would act as Administrator MCI for a period of six months or till formation of local government in Islamabad.

Previous, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz held charge of MCI Administrator for one and a half years. He was given extension twice for six months each and his last tenure ended on November 26, 2023.
