Election material distributed in Nowshera

NOWSHERA: The distribution of election material started two hours late in the district and the work continued from 10am till late at night due to which the election staff faced difficulties.

The presiding officers will return the election material to the control room after the polling time ends.

The control room was established for National Assembly constituencies NA-33 and NA 34 and five provincial constituencies PK- 85, PK-86, PK-87, PK-88 and PK-89, where all the returning officers along with their staff started the distribution of election material.

Around 628 polling stations were established in the district.

District Election Commissioner Zahir Khan said the presiding officers have been given access to the Election Management System (EMS) which did not require internet so that they could share the results instantly with the returning officers.

It may be mentioned that security arrangements had been made for the highly sensitive polling stations where the police, Elite Force and soldiers of Pakistan Army would be deployed.

The Quick Response Force remained on standby during the distribution of election materials. The Mall Road was sealed and all traffic was diverted to Ring Road.
