Election security measures reviewed

LAHORE : Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, Bilal Siddique Kamyana presided over an important meeting of senior police officers to assess the security measures on the eve of general elections.

Emphasising strict adherence to the Election Commission's code of conduct, Capital City Police Officer Lahore warned of decisive action against any violations, particularly regarding the display and use of weapons.

He reiterated zero tolerance for dereliction of duty, affirming rigorous departmental consequences and continuous monitoring via control rooms to uphold law and order.

He directed to establish additional pickets at the polling stations besides regular patrolling by Dolphin Force, Special Protection Unit and Elite Force to maintain security on Election Day.

Anticipating potential contingencies, reserve forces were designated to support Lahore Police.

He also directed to strengthen coordination with the Election Commission, district administration and security agencies.
