Extension of Data Darbar Complex: CM lays foundation of Rs6.5bn project

LAHORE : Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi laid the foundation stone of the extension of the mega project of Darbar of Hazrat Ali Hajvery Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) complex which will cost Rs6.5 billion.

The CM formally launched the construction work by employing the shovel in the corridor of the Darbar. The extension of the prayer hall is included in the mega project and further capacity of 1,000 worshippers will be created. A spacious langar hall will be built for 1,000 devotees for taking their food simultaneously. A sitting place will be built for devotees in the Mehfil-e-Samaa. Extension in the ‘Ghulam Gardish’ surrounding four parts of the Darbar will be undertaken.

The Administrator Data Darbar Tauqeer Mehmood Wattoo and Aslam Tareen of the Madina Foundation signed on the MoU on the construction of the central part of Darbar. Later, the CM while talking with the media stated that remodelling and redesigning of Bhatti Chowk would also be undertaken. A dual road will be constructed from the Bhatti Chowk towards the Darbar.

The completion period of the project is stipulated for three years. Hopefully, C&W department will complete it in two years. The Data Darbar complex extension project is bigger than the Bibi Pak Daman upgradation project.

In reply to a question, the CM apprised that all the forces, including the police are on high alert for holding the elections. There are 49,000 polling stations across Pakistan while more than 52,000 polling stations are in Punjab only. All possible steps have been undertaken for holding peaceful and transparent elections. CCTV cameras installation work has been completed at the polling stations. A legal action will be taken against those remaining absent from their election duties. We will not let any obstacle to come across during the polling process.

Seeks traders’ role in boosting economy

Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi presided over the third Punjab Chambers of Commerce Coordination Committee meeting being held at CM’s office on Wednesday.

Punjab Cabinet, chief secretary, IG Police, secretaries and advisers concerned attended the meeting. The participants in the Chamber of Commerce Coordination Committee paid tributes to the caretaker CM for the establishment of six Business Facilitation Centres in the province.

LCCI president Kashif Anwar, Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Imtiaz Dogar, Federation of Pakistan Women Chambers president and Jhang Chamber presidents praised the performance of the caretaker chief minister.

The chief minister while addressing the meeting stated that the traders and industrialists can play a pivotal role in improving the national economy. We would review establishing a ‘Resource Centre’ for the women entrepreneurs. We are going to establish Business Facilitation Centres in every division of Punjab while six Business Facilitation Centres have been made functional in only 45 days.

Mohsin Naqvi apprised that 22 provincial departments and two federal departments were providing services at the Business Facilitation Centre counters. The industrialists will be provided 124 NOCs under one roof with the establishment of Business Facilitation Centres.

The industrialists and presidents along with office-bearers of various chambers put forth their proposals and recommendations for the promotion of business activities across the province. The chief minister noted down all their proposals and assured them of implementing of their practicable recommendations.

CM orders completing diagnostic centre, police service centre in 10 days

The chief minister has ordered completing SIMS lab and diagnostic centre and the Shadman Khidmat Centre in 10 days and tasked Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa.

During inspection, the chief minister directed allocating parking spaces and ensuring ample room for driving tests. IG police, CCPO, chief engineer LDA, and others were also present on the occasion.

Inaugurates daycare centre

The chief minister inaugurated a daycare centre set up in collaboration with the private sector, at police lines Qila Gujjar Singh and expressed satisfaction with the facilities.

He directed to improve the condition of police flats adjacent to the office of DIG (Investigations), emphasising the necessity of adequate parking arrangements.

Condoles loss of lives in blasts

The chief minister condemned the blasts near the election offices at Pishin and Qila Saifullah in the areas of Balochistan. He expressed deep grief over the loss of previous human lives. Mohsin Naqvi has expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences with the heirs of the deceased persons and prayed for an early recovery of the injured.
