WANA: Two cops sustained injuries when a remote-controlled blast ripped through a vehicle of the police in Wana’s Rustam Bazaar in Lower South Waziristan.
As soon as the information about the explosion was received, the Rescue 1122 officials reached the spot and rushed the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana. The condition of one injured was said to be precarious, so he was referred to a hospital in Dera Ismail Khan.
Official sources said that a remote-controlled bomb exploded targeting the police vehicle on the Wana Karikot Road, damaging the vehicle.
Some reports said additional SHO Wana was the target of the blast, however, he escaped unhurt.
Officials said the bomb was planted in a makeshift shed. Two policemen were injured in the blast.
Official sources added that at the time of the blast, Additional SHO of City Police Station was passing nearby, however, he remained unhurt in the attack.After the bomb blast, the police and security forces surrounded the entire area.
