Nawaz contacts candidate about electioneering in Chitral
CHITRAL: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) supreme leader Nawaz Sharif on Friday made a telephone call to Shahzada Iftikharuddin, party candidate for NA-1, and discussed with him the political situation in the two districts.
Nawaz Sharif told Shahzada Iftikhar to tell the people that he would complete the unfinished agenda of developing Chitral. “We will not only complete the unfinished projects but will also launch mega projects for the district after coming into power,” the former premier said.
He said he had completed the Lowari Tunnel and included Chitral- Shandur Road in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Project.
Nawaz Sharif said he would fulfill all the promises made with the people and hoped the people of Chitral would cast votes in favour of the PMLN candidate. “Our agenda is development. We don’t believe in hollow slogans,” he added.
Shahzada Iftikhar briefed the former premier about his election campaign, saying that he had successfully completed electioneering in Upper Chitral.
“We reached every village in the remote and scattered valleys in Upper Chitral despite severe cold and snowfall,” Iftikhar said, adding he was visiting the hilly areas of Lower Chitral in the last leg of his electioneering.
The ex-MNA thanked Nawaz Sharif for his commitments to the development of Chitral.
