KARACHI: Mari Petroleum Company Limited said on Thursday it had successfully drilled and tested another development well in its Mari Deep field in Sindh.
The company, which operates the Mari Development and Production Lease (D&PL) with a 100 percent working interest, said in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) that the Mari Deep-20 well in the Goru-B formation had a flow rate of 19 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas and 8.3 barrels per day (BPD) of condensate.
The well, which was spudded on Dec. 17, 2023, and drilled to a depth of 2,975 metres, will be hooked up to the Sachal Gas Processing Complex (SGPC) for onward supply to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), the company said.
"This will maximise SGPC utilisation in addition to optimising reservoir management," it added.
Earlier this month, Mari Petroleum said it had successfully drilled and tested an appraisal well at its Mari Ghazij-1 field in the same D&PL area.
Mari Petroleum, which operates the country's largest gas reservoir at the Mari Gas Field in Daharki, Sindh, is the second largest producer of natural gas in Pakistan. Its key customers include fertiliser manufacturers, power generation companies, gas distribution companies and refineries.
