10-year term in cipher case: Khattak says ex-PM Imran met his fate
He was not honest in establishing ‘Madina State’ rather he was promoting Western culture in country
NOWSHERA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Parliamentarians (PTIP) chairman Pervez Khattak said on Tuesday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder and former prime minister was convicted for 10 years imprisonment in cipher case due to his flawed and imprudent policies.
“Former PM Imran Khan has damaged the image of our country by staging a drama on the cipher case in public. He was not honest in establishing ‘Madina State’ rather he was promoting Western culture in the country,” he said while speaking to gatherings as part of election campaigns in various places of the district.
The PTIP candidate for NA-34 and PK-89, Dr Imran Khattak, PK-85 aspirant Ibrahim Khattak, PK-86 candidate Ismail Khattak and others also addressed the gatherings. He said that the country had drowned in debts but the political parties used to come and rule and did not honour their pledges made with masses.
The former KP chief minister said, “The looters had harmed the country. The world has moved forward, but we are continuously dragging ourselves into the quagmire.”
He said that as the prime minister, the PTI chief was a dictator, not a representative of the masses. “The PTI chief staged the drama under the guise of Naya Pakistan and change.”
Pervez Khattak claimed that his party’s manifesto was to uplift the KP and urged the people to vote his party to power to bring the province back on the track to development and prosperity.
“People are joining the PTIP in droves as they know the party has a visionary and progressive approach and can steer the province out of the prevailing crises,” he claimed.
Pervez Khattak said that he had helped former premier Imran Khan establish his party’s government in the province twice, otherwise, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was not able to win a single seat.
He also lashed out at the leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan People’s Party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl and Awami National Party for their failure to deliver during their governments in the country.
The leaders of all the political parties, he added, had just filled their coffers and had done nothing for welfare of the masses when they were ruling the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the country turn by turn.
He said that leaders of other political parties had lost the trust of people due to their greed for powers and wealth, as they had never implemented their parties’ manifestos in letter and spirit.
He said the PTIP would put the province on the road to progress after forming a government in the wake of the upcoming elections.
