Event to promote KP’s soft image held

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA), in collaboration with the Department of International Relations at University of Peshawar and the International Relations Students Association, organised a two-day event in a bid to highlight the soft image of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

A press release said the aim of the fair was oriented towards diversity, promoting peace and harmony in order to present a positive image of the province and the merged areas. Caretaker Minister for Newly Merged Districts (NMDs) Aamir Abdullah, and Brigadier Tashfeen attended the event as chief guests. President of IRSA Ahmad Ali Khan, and In-charge of IRSA Dr Khurshaid were also present. On the first day, a panel discussion was arranged on the promotion of peace which was moderated by Dr Sami Raza. The panel included caretaker Minister for Newly Merged Districts (NMDs) Aamir Abdullah, Prof Dr Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy and journalists Mushtaq Yusufzai and Shams Mohammad. The participants discussed the situation in the merged districts and elsewhere in the country. The panel discussion emphasized that the establishment of peace was vital for the growth of a healthy society. They said every member of society must endeavor to achieve this objective without considering petty interests and differences.

The participants emphasized the need for a true analysis of the situation and making the right decisions, ignoring speculations and rumours. They said that holding such events would help counter negative narratives, change the mindset of people and project a soft image of the province and the newly merged districts.
