Guard injured in firing on ANP candidate

ALPURI: A security guard of the Awami National Party (ANP) candidate for NA-11 sustained injuries when unidentified gunmen opened fire on the caravan of Aurangzeb Khan in Mandoria Martong area in the Shangla district on Monday.

ANP candidate Aurangzeb Khan along with his party supporters was passing through Mandoria Martong area in Shanagla during his election campaign when came under attack by unknown gunmen.

Asghar Shah from Frontier Constabulary (FC) who was providing security to the ANP candidate, sustained bullet injuries while Aurangzeb Khan remained unharmed. The injured FC man was rushed to the hospital in Aloch.

Soon after the incident, the police rushed to the spot, cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the perpetrators.

It may be mentioned that unidentified armed men had attacked the hujra or male guesthouse of Aurangzeb Khan last year.
