Hoti says PTI victimised rivals during its govt

SWABI: Awami National Party (ANP) leader Ameer Hider Khan Hoti on Monday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders were raising hue and cry that they were being treated unfairly but in fact they targeted rivals during the PTI rule.

Addressing an election rally at Yar Hussain town here, he recalled that the ANP also faced difficulties in the general elections in 2013 and 2018. “The PTI came to power through a fraudulent election,” he remarked.

He said that the ANP was facing all the problems bravely and would not leave the political arena. He said that the PTI leaders quit their struggle because of jails and arrests.

He said that the previous chief ministers Pervez Khattak and Mahmood Khan buried Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under a huge loan running into Rs900 billion. He said that the PTI rulers created the economic crisis and left the province in dire financial straits.

Hoti said that Pervez Khattak had taken a U-turn and was now blaming the PTI founder for all the ills. “Pervez Khattak enjoyed perks and privileges for years and ditched the PTI leadership during hard times,” he remarked.

He said that Pervez Khattak was claiming to become the next chief minister after roping in the independent candidates after the polls.

Hoti said, “No one else gave this assurance to Pervez Khattak, but the independent candidates of PTI themselves did this.”

The ANP leader said that after February 8 polls, PTI’s independent successful candidate would flock to other political parties in search of greener pastures.
