Official rates of perishable items not implemented

LAHORE : The prices of some essential items witnessed a decline in the official rates after a consecutive increase of almost one month but on ground still high as the official rates were not followed anywhere in the City.

The prices of onion came down after decline in exports with the imposition of minimum export price fixed by the government. However, it was still higher and sold up to Rs220 to 240 per kilogram from the last week price of Rs300 per kilogram. Further, the local supplies of onion also improved as compared to the past weeks which also contributed to bringing down the prices.

However, the price of tomato is not coming down, besides all the seasonal vegetables which are being sold above Rs100 per kilogram rate.

This week price of chicken reduced by Re one per kg, fixed at Rs424-440 per kg, sold at Rs470-490 per kg, and chicken meat fixed at Rs638 per kg, and sold at Rs660-1,300 per kg.

The price of potato soft skin unchanged at Rs42-45 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs37-40 per kg, and C-grade fixed at Rs32-35 per kilogram, mixed sold at Rs60-80 per kg.

The price of onion A-grade cut by Rs70 per kg, fixed at Rs168-175 per kg, sold at Rs200-220 per kg, B-grade gained by Rs60 per kg, fixed at Rs155-160 per kg, sold at Rs180 per kg, and C-grade fixed at Rs140-145 per kg, sold at Rs160 per kg.

The price of tomato A-grade declined by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs115-120 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs105-110 per kg, sold at Rs150-160 per kg, and C-grade fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs120-130 per kg.

The price of garlic local was cut by Rs20 per kg, at Rs490-510 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg, and Garlic China reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs510-530 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg.

The price Ginger Thai reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs450-470 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg, Garlic Indonesia cut by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs325-340 per kg, sold Rs500 per kg.

Bitter gourd price increased by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs280-290 per kg, sold at Rs500 per kg.

The price of Spinach farm increased by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs76-80 sold at Rs100-120 per kg, spinach local by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg.

Carrot Chinese unchanged at Rs115-120 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg, carrot local reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs46-48 per kg, sold at Rs60-80 per kg. Arum was reduced by Rs22 per kg, fixed at Rs150-155 per kg, not sold. Turnip was unchanged at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg.

Fenugreek (Methi) price increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs130-135 per kg, sold at Rs160-200 per kg. Pea price reduced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs215-225 per kg, sold at Rs250-280 per kg. Beetroot was sold at Rs240-320 per kg. Coriander was sold at Rs20 per bundle.

Radish was unchanged at Rs22-24 per kg, sold at Rs40-50 per kg.

The price of different variety of apples fixed at Rs305 per kg, sold at Rs250-500 per kg.

The price of Banana A-category reduced by Rs5 per dozen, fixed at Rs145-150 per dozen, sold at Rs200 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs95-100 per dozen, sold at Rs140-150 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs70-75 per dozen, sold at Rs120-130 per dozen.

Grapes toofi price increased by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs370-385 per kg, sold at Rs600-800 per kg.

Pomegranate danaydar price increased by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs390-405 per kg, sold at Rs500 per kg, Pomegranate khandahri fixed at Rs300-310 per kg, sold at Rs400-500 per kg, Pomegranate bedana gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs620-640 per kg, sold at Rs800-1,000 per kg.

Guava was fixed at Rs68-130 per kg, sold at Rs130-250 per kg. Musami was unchanged at Rs65-110 per dozen, sold at Rs180-200 per dozen. Grapefruit price fixed at Rs17-18 per piece, sold at Rs25-30 per piece.

Sweet potato was fixed at Rs75-80 per kg, sold at Rs100-150 per kg. Fruiter price increased by Rs5 per dozen, fixed at Rs95-175 per dozen, sold at Rs220-250 per dozen. Citrus fruit price increased by Rs5 per dozen, fixed at Rs170 per dozen, sold at Rs200-300 per dozen.
