Strike continues in Gilgit-Baltistan

SKARDU: A historic public protest and shutdown strike continued in Gilgit-Baltistan for the second day for fundamental human rights and right to ownership and sovereignty over natural resources.
Commercial centers and transport were completely closed in Gilgit-Baltistan on Saturday. Convoys of protesters have reached Gilgit from Hunza, Nagar and Ghazar, while hundreds of protesters from Diamer, Astor and Baltistan will soon reach Gilgit.
According to the details, there has been a protest in Gilgit-Baltistan for the past one month against the gradual elimination of the discount given in the price of wheat in exchange for the free use of the river and other natural resources by the federal and provincial governments.
