‘Allied health experts backbone of medical care system’

LAHORE : Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute Prof Dr Al-Fareed Zafar has said that allied health professionals are the backbone of medical care system and without their effective role and full participation in any hospital's medical system, patients’ treatment and care requirements could not be fulfilled.

He further said that health professionals have an equal share in the treatment of patients and their speedy recovery and they are considered as an important pillar for every hospital, due to their skills and professional expertise.

He expressed these views while addressing the reception organized by Allied Health Professionals Lahore General Hospital. Vice-Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, Principal Ophthalmology King Edward Medical University Prof. M Moeen, Association President Junaid Mayo, Chairman Salim Sahi, General Secretary Syed Mazhar Shah, Syed Azhar Abbas, Dr. Masood Akhtar Sheikh, Dr. Abdul Aziz, Dr. Javed Mumtaz and a large number of administrative doctors and employees attended this august ceremony.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Al-Fareed Zafar said that allied health professionals have to work hard to administer medical technology and they are no less than any other medical professional in terms of skills.

He appreciated that example of former LGH Radiographer Bilal Ramzan who was such talented that he secured Doctorate and made the name not only his institution but also the country famous by obtaining a PHD in physics due to his God-gifted talents and intelligence and has brightened to the field of allied health professionals which is motivating and admirable for other employees as well.

Principal Ameer Uddin Medical College said that the allied health professionals have rendered excellent services during any epidemic in the country and the medical staff of the Lahore General Hospital has not been left behind in this regard.

He said that the requirement of the medical field is that the people associated with it not only get respected, fame and financial interests in the worldly sense, but they will get eternal happiness and a great reward in the life hereafter as well.

Prof. Al-Fareed Zafar asserted technical staff to pay full attention to their professional education and spare no effort for the uplift and better reputation of their department.

Association president Junaid Mayo said that he will leave no stone unturned for the good name of the hospital and the welfare of the patients.

Arif Butar, Qasim Mayo, Faheem Subhani, Malik Wasim and Mohsin Bagha were also present on the occasion who expressed their determination to gain more achievement under the leadership of Principal Prof. Al-Fareed Zafar and to continue the journey to make this institution state of the art and ensure the provision of maximum medical facilities to the patients.
