All elections held from 1947 to-date stolen: Shahid Khaqan
While declaring 3 major political parties of country as failed, he said these parties have no solution to problems of people
ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that all the elections from 1947 to-date have been stolen.
While declaring the three major political parties of the country as failed parties, he said these parties have no solution to the problems of people.
“Election is a sacred process and the country will suffer if it is made controversial. Decision on making a new party will be made after the election,” he said while talking to the media outside the NAB office, Rawalpindi, on Thursday.
He claimed NAB and anti-corruption institutions are being used for manipulation in election and politics. “Election is a sacred process. It will cause harm to the country if it is made controversial,” the ex-PM said.
He underlined that Nawaz Sharif was his Quaid. “However, there are differences in the party. I left the party due to this,” he said.
He remarked this system is not destined to run. It did not run in 2018 nor will it run now.
He stated a notice had been issued to his spokesperson instead of him. This is tactics of harassment during the process of election.
“Love letters kept on coming to me from anti-corruption during the PTI government. When I said I am an MNA, the anti-corruption apologized,” he said.
“It was sent to me on plain paper that I committed corruption in building a road. I have been accused that I have awarded contracts of building two roads to my favorite contractors. When I have reached here, it has been said the roads have not been built,” he said.
“I ask the caretaker prime minister to make elections non-controversial. It is gratifying that I am not part of the election which creates chaos in the country,” he added. He remarked NAB and anti-corruption institutions have become the most corrupt institutions in the country. “The narrative to give respect to vote was constitutional,” he held. “I have quit the election and not quit politics,” he underlined.
