Karachi Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Khurrum Sher Zaman has alleged that the District South administration has been removing his campaign posters in the NA-241 (Karachi South-III) constituency.
Zaman wrote a letter to Sindh Election Commissioner Sharifullah, complaining about what he said unfair campaign practices and violation of code of conduct in NA-241. “These practices blatantly violate the principles of a level playing field and undermine the code of conduct set forth by the Election Commission of Pakistan,” he wrote.
He added that the municipal authorities were systematically removing his campaign posters in the constituency. “This blatant act of vandalism not only damages my campaign efforts but denies me a fair and equitable environment to contest elections,” he maintained.
The Karachi PTI president argued that other candidates were free to display and distribute their election campaigning material, however his efforts to do the same were being unfairly sabotaged.
He urged the Sindh election commissioner to take immediate action to ensure that the ECP’s code of conduct was upheld.
