LAHORE:The consumers of provincial capital have complained suspension in gas supply and extremely low pressure amid cold weather.
People complained that SNGPL is not adhering to gas supply schedule, especially in the morning. A consumer alleged that gas supply was not restored by 7:30am, causing severe inconvenience for school and office going family members. Similar is the case of gas supply at night as its availability becomes an issue after 9pm. He also complained low pressure of gas throughout the day. He claimed that people are forced to use LPG as an alternative fuel.
The most affected areas include Township, Mughalpura, Shalimar, Baghbanpura, Samanabad, Gulshan Ravi, Garhi Shahu, Shad Bagh, Bhatta Chowk and Ali Park. Residents of Township held a demonstration against non-availability of natural gas and its inflated bills. They shouted slogans against the gas utility saying without proper gas supply, consumers are subjected to excessive bills. In the high inflation days, people were of the view that common man cannot afford to pay such a high energy cost.
