Two Lesco officials suspended over facilitating power theft

LAHORE:Around two officials of Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) Canal Road Sub-Division have been suspended for facilitating electricity theft through installing bogus meters.

According to an official, Meter Reader Raza Malik and Assistant Lineman Faisal Ramzan were abetting electricity theft by installing bogus meters. SDO Canal Road Sulaiman Samuel ordered disciplinary action against both the officials. Taking punitive action, both of the employees were dismissed from their jobs.

According to the instructions of CEO Shahid Haider, an official claimed that punishments are being given without distinguishing between consumers and officials involved in electricity theft. Shahid said that electricity thief is the enemy of the country and the nation.
