Entire country crying today due to vengeance of PTI founder: Maryam
There are marks of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif’s service all over Pakistan, Punjab and Lahore as every project and every job was done on merit
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) Senior Vice President and Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz said on Sunday people know it well who carried out development projects and who indulged in only political revenge while in the government.
Addressing the PMLN election team meeting in the National Assembly constituency NA-119 Lahore, she regretted that the whole of Pakistan was crying today because of those who wanted to make their opponents cry. She said from 2018 to 2022, the whole of Pakistan had seen and suffered the effects of incompetence of PTI founder. She regretted that due to the incompetence of former ruler, women were crying that gas was not reaching their homes.
Maryam said there were marks of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif’s service all over Pakistan, Punjab and Lahore as every project and every job was done on merit.
Maryam also met PTI ticketholder from National Assembly constituency NA-119 Lahore Mehar Muhammad Wasim and his colleagues, who said they wanted to join the PMLN. Wasim said he would make an announcement in this regard in a meeting on January 25. He would also announce withdrawing his candidature in favour of Maryam Nawaz. Parvez Rasheed, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Ali Pervez Malik, Khawaja Imran Nazir and other leaders were also present.
Maryam welcomed Mehar Wasim and his associates. Meanwhile, former chief minister Punjab and PMLN leader Hamza Shehbaz announced 300 units of free electricity if the PMLN formed the government after elections.
Addressing a corner meeting in NA-118 Bhatti Gate on Sunday, he said he came to inaugurate the election office but the passion of people had converted the event into a successful rally.
He said the era of PTI founder was full of revenge politics and the entire leadership of the PMLN was put in jails in false cases.
Hamza said the February 8 elections would change the destiny of the country. He asked the people to vote wisely on February 8.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Sunday announced the final list of its candidates for the National Assembly seats from 212 constituencies, while it made seat adjustments with various parties on 51 seats by not fielding its candidates.
The PMLN election cell head and former finance minister Ishaq Dar tweeted the lists on Sunday and expressed the best of luck and prayers for the party candidates.
As per the list, shared by Ishaq Dar, Nawaz Sharif would contest polls from NA-15 (Mansehra) and NA-130 (Lahore), PMLN Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz will contest election from NA-119, party President Shehbaz Sharif from NA-123 and NA-132 and Hamza Shehbaz to contest from NA-118 Lahore.
The constituencies where the PMLN has not fielded its candidates included NA-4 (Swat-III), NA-19 (Swabi-I), NA-20 (Swabi-II), NA-21 (Mardan-I), NA-22 (Mardan-III), NA-44 (Dera Ismail Khan-I), NA-45 (Dera Ismail Khan-II), NA-48 (Islamabad-III), NA-54 (Islamabad-III), NA-64 (Gujrat-III), NA-88 (Khushab-II), NA-92 (Bhakkar-II), NA-117 (Lahore-I), NA-128 (Lahore-XII), NA-143 (Sahiwal-III) and NA-149 (Multan-II).
The PMLN candidates were also not contesting from NA-165, NA-185, NA-190 to NA-204, NA-206 to NA-210, NA-212, NA-214, NA-215, NA-217, NA-218, NA-221, NA-223, NA-224, NA-228, NA-239, NA-245, NA-264 and NA-266.
Meanwhile, PMLN supremo Nawaz Sharif started his election campaign from Hafizabad some days back by addressing a public rally and he would deliver his next speech in Mansehra on Monday (today).
Likewise, Maryam Nawaz and other party leaders are also conducting rallies and corner meetings in their respective constituencies. On Sunday, Hamza Shehbaz visited his constituency and former adviser to the prime minister Atta Tarar held meetings in his constituency in Lahore.
Separately, former prime minister and PMLN President Shehbaz Sharif visited his constituency here on Sunday.
His son Suleman Shehbaz also accompanied him and held meetings with former parliamentarians and PMLN leaders and workers in the constituency.
Shehbaz Sharif also visited the house of former adviser Ahmed Usmani and offered condolences on the death of his brother.
Former MPA Akhtar Hussain Badshah, Akbar Hussain and others were also present.
