MQM to withdraw candidate in favour of GDA’s Irfanullah Marwat in PS-105
The Mutahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has decided to withdraw its candidate in PS-105 in favour of Grand Democratic Alliance’s (GDA) Irfanullah Marwat during the February 8 elections.
Meanwhile, Irfanullah Marwat has decided to support the MQM-P in NA-237 and PS-104.
MQM-P Member Rabita Committee Rauf Siddiqui told a press conference on Saturday that his party had an understanding with the GDA and a few other political parties.
“Irfanullah Marwat has a relation of love with the MQM,” he said, adding that they would help Marwat win with a historic number of votes. He said that all the MQM supporters and voters should vote for Marwat.
Siddiqui further alleged that the mayor and the deputy mayor of this city are breaking election rules. “These people have played dirty games to win the election for their party,” he said and demanded that this series of actions should stop, and municipal representatives should be suspended.
The Sindh High Court has ordered the removal of flags from government buildings, yet the flags of the Pakistan Peoples Party are being displayed at various places and that of the MQM’s have been removed and should be returned, he said.
Siddiqui said that they have reliable information about this constituency. “We don’t want to fight; we are participating in the election peacefully. We don’t want to fight, but we know how to fight,” he said, adding that they would achieve a great success in the general elections.
Meanwhile, Marwat said that the MQM, GDA and JUI have made agreements and will work together. We are engaged in big professional politics.
He said that half of the funds, whether national or provincial, will be used as per their wish, and the other half will be used according to our preference for the entire neighborhood. He said that he was grateful to the MQM leadership for trusting him. “I urge all supporters to give a small vote to me and a big vote to Brother Rauf,” he said, adding that his relationship with the MQM was not new; it was established a long time ago.
People are facing difficulties in this constituency, such as there is no gas. “We will solve issues related to water, electricity, and gas in the constituency,” he said, adding that after achieving success in the elections, we will provide jobs to the youth. He said there was an attempt to spoil the environment in Azam Basti and they want to win based on the power of the people’s votes.
