Minister orders completing CHL work on time
LAHORE : Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Prof Dr Javed Akram made a detailed visit to Children's Hospital Lahore (CHL) on Saturday and directed the contractors to complete the revamping project on time.
Pro-Vice Chancellor University of Child Health Sciences Prof Dr Junaid Rasheed, MD Professor Dr Tipu Sultan and related officers were also accompanied by the provincial health minister. The minister also chaired the meeting of Allama Iqbal Molecular Biology Research Consortium at the University of Child Health Sciences. Prof Dr Muaz ur Rahman, Prof Dr Tayyab Hussain, Prof Dr Riaz ud din and others participated in the meeting.
Dr Javed Akram said that the revamping project in Children's Hospital Lahore is going on successfully. Children's Hospital Lahore is not letting any patient suffer during revamping. The next meeting of the consortium will be held at Social Welfare Complex Township.
An agreement will be reached between the consortium and the Department of Social Welfare and Bait ul Maal to provide the best medical facilities to the patients. In the previous meeting of the Consortium, the Rear Disease Study Group was formed. This group is conducting research on rear diseases.
Prof Dr Javed Akram further said that research was done on solar kids of Balochistan. This center was made for research on hepatitis and interferon. Now this center has been shifted for genetic diseases and stem cell regenerative medicine. Under this consortium, innovative research is carried out to ensure public health. Providing the best health facilities to the people is the first priority.
Diabetes awareness seminar
Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Prof Dr Javed Akram also participated in an awareness seminar to control diabetes in a local hotel on Saturday.
The caretaker provincial health minister Prof Dr Javed Akram also spoke to the media on this occasion. Prof Dr Aftab Mohsin, Moderator Dr Uneeba Syed, Prof Dr Israr ul Haq, Prof Dr Zaheer Akhtar, Dr Richard Pratley, Dr Imtiaz Hasan and others participated in the seminar.
Dr Javed Akram said useful and healthy medicine is the basic right of every patient. To avoid diabetes we have to adopt a healthy lifestyle. We should prioritize healthy food in our daily life. Make exercise a part of your daily life.
Dr Javed Akram while answering the questions of the media representatives said that indiscriminate action is being taken against the criminals and enemies of humanity, quacks in Punjab. The vaccine is being ensured in all public hospitals.
