FJIDS project to be ready in 10 days: CM

CM inspected the instruments for providing treatment and directed to install them at the earliest

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi paid a visit to the Fatima Jinnah Institute of Dental Sciences (FJIDS) at Jubilee Town on Saturday and reviewed progress being made on the project.

Owing to extraordinary speed and excellent quality work of caretaker Punjab govt, a project being halted for the last 20 years has come near to its completion. He said that Fatima Jinnah Institute of Dental Sciences at Jubilee Town will be inaugurated in 10 days.

Naqvi inspected the finishing work and ordered to complete finishing work of the project soon. He directed to eliminate bushes lying at the backyard of the institute and directed to convert it into a beautiful lawn. Naqvi assigned a deadline to prepare the lawn in 7 days.

CM inspected the instruments for providing treatment and directed to install them at the earliest. Naqvi inspected the under construction hostel and directed to make a lawn on the vacant area of land adjacent to the hostel as well.

Secretary Health and Secretary C&W gave a briefing about the progress being made on the project. They apprised that 30 units for providing dental treatment have arrived in the institute and 20 more units will arrive in coming few days.

Provincial Minister for Specialised Healthcare & Medical Education Dr Javed Akram and officials of C&W department were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the mission to serve the grieved humanity is ongoing even in the severe cold weather. Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi along with the members of Provincial Cabinet paid a visit to the Mayo and Ganga Ram Hospitals.

CM, provincial ministers and senior officials travelled in a coach and reviewed ongoing upgradation work in both the hospitals. The state-of-the-art emergency block of Mayo Hospital is near completion. Digital panels to control the temperature and latest facilities have been installed in the state-of-the-art operation theatres.

Mohsin Naqvi inspected finishing of the upgradation work. He witnessed reception counter of the emergency block, floor tiles and signboards for the patients and attendants. He directed to improve writing on the signboards being installed in the Urdu language so that the patients and attendants can be provided ease in their reading. Mohsin Naqvi also inspected the operation theatres and reviewed latest lights being installed in the operation theatres. CM monitored ongoing construction activities at the ground floor, first floor, second floor and third floor. He apprised that emergency block of the Mayo Hospital will be opened in coming few days. Secretary C&W gave a briefing about progress being made on the upgradation project.

Later, CM along with the Provincial Cabinet reached Ganga Ram Hospital by travelling in a coach. Naqvi and the Provincial Ministers conducted a detailed review of the upgradation work and monitored progress being made on the upgradation work being undertaken in the wards, operation theatres and other sections of the hospital.

CM inspected construction activities of the hospital. He while ordering to chalk out an immediate plan to shift the sewerage line passing inside the hospital directed to explore a comprehensive and a durable solution regarding the sewerage line. Mohsin Naqvi shook hands with the labourers working late night and commended their hard work.

CM directed to speed up Ganga Ram Hospital construction work along with deploying additional labour force. Mohsin Naqvi directed to ensure high-quality in the upgradation work at any cost.

Chairman P&D Board, SMBR, Secretaries, Commissioner Lahore, CCPO, VC KEMU, CEO Mayo Hospital, MS Mayo Hospital, VC FJMU, MS Ganga Ram Hospital and other officials were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi visited Crescent Model Higher Secondary School at Shadman today and inspected model stalls of the students. Mohsin Naqvi expressed his keen interest in the robotic models of the Crescent School students.

Student Amar Jeet Singh and Ayan Raza presented the model of a robotic bridge. Hadi Azamat showed practical display of the cable car model and the female students presented the models of power generator and grasshopper. CM appreciated creative abilities of the male and female students for making robotic models.

He presented a cheque to a student named M Khizar Kamran for attaining top position in Physics during the Cambridge Examination.

CM at the end of the ceremony went close to the teachers, shook hands with them and inquired their well-being. He refreshed his past school memories with the teachers and embraced them. Altaf M Saleem Secretary Crescent Education Trust stated that the CM being a Crescent alumni was a matter of great pride and distinction.

CM while addressing the International Academic Summit 2024 Ceremony being held at Crescent Model Higher Secondary School stated that he felt pleased after witnessing the vote-counting machine being made by the female students. Nowadays, there is a great need for voting machines.

The students along with attaining education should also focus their attention on the extra-curricular activities. They must attain education but should also participate in other activities as well. Taking part in the extra-curricular activities will give a great benefit to them in their practical lives.

There were less sports facilities in our time, now 39 kinds of various sports facilities are available in the school. Sports coaches are also available in the school.

A Chinese language subject is also being taught in the Crescent Model Higher Secondary School. The school administration should invite the Chinese Consul General as the Consul General will fully support the promotion of the Chinese language. Teachers are the great asset of Crescent Model Higher Secondary School.

Provincial Ministers Amir Mir, Mansoor Qadir, Bilal Afzal, Chairman Crescent Education Trust Karamat Nazir Bhandari, Principal Rabia Anjum, Secretary School Education, Commissioner Lahore and concerned officials were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi along the Provincial Cabinet took tea in a famous tea hotel of Mozang at Temple Road. Those deprived of speaking power gathered over their on the arrival of CM Mohsin Naqvi.

CM asked those deprived of speaking power to sit alongside him and shook hands with them. Those deprived of speaking power said "I Love You" to the CM in their special language. Mohsin Naqvi and the provincial ministers also said" I Love You" to those deprived of speaking power through their body language. Those deprived of speaking power apprised CM about the driving license issue.

Mohsin Naqvi by taking a notice on the spot, issued orders to the police officials to immediately resolve their driving licence issue. CM assured the differently-abled persons about arranging their meeting with the Inspector General of Police. The differently-abled persons thanked CM Naqvi for taking his personal interest with regard to resolution of their genuine issues.
