KABIRWALA: Pakistan Muslim League Senior Vice President and Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said there is no political party that can compete with the PMLN in political battlefield.

Addressing a gathering in Khanewal on Friday, she challenged all the other political parties to compete against her party in the field. She claimed the PMLN faced the worst political victimisation and police brutality but its leadership faced the oppression bravely. She praised steadfastness of party workers despite strong political victimisation in the past.

She emphasized, “Good and bad times are always part of politics but the PMLN never left the field and it is always ready to serve masses with a renewed zeal.” She thanked the people of Khanewal to stamp the symbol of tiger in 2018 when election was being rigged across the country to defeat Nawaz Sharif.

Maryam said she was arrested and victimized in the presence of her father, Mian Nawaz Sharif. While counting her ordeal, she said she was informed about the death of her mother in Adiala Jail, but support of the party workers made her remain steadfast. She said it was being claimed the PMLN would not be able to run its election campaign due to skyrocketing inflation, but participation of large number of people in its rallies showed masses were aware that the PMLN was not responsible for inflation in the country.

Criticizing the PTI leadership for inciting its workers to violence on May 9, she said Nawaz Sharif never sparked rage among political workers and never urged them to attack the government and public properties. However, it was the so-called PTI leadership which forced its workers to attack the Jinnah House and demolish monuments of martyrs. It was not Nawaz Sharif who ordered to abstain from the intra-party polls, she said and added that it was only the PMLN that faced gigantic challenges with bravery, as the party always enjoyed the support of people. She said had Nawaz Sharif not been ousted, the country would not have experienced gas load-shedding, inflation and unemployment. She highlighted the efforts of Nawaz Sharif for steering Pakistan out of crises caused by terrorism before he assumed power. She said if youth wanted more and more job opportunities, they should cast their votes in favour of the PMLN on February 8. The PMLN public meeting was held at the Railway Ground. Maryam Nawaz thanked Muhammad Khan Daha, candidate from National Assembly constituency NA-145, Syed Mukhtar Hussain from NA-144, Rana Salim Hanif from Punjab Assembly constituency PP-211 and Osama Fazal from PP-206 for organising the public meeting.
