Worker killed in marble quarry rockslide

KHAR: A worker of a marble mine was killed and another sustained injuries when a heavy stone fell on them in Islam Dherai area in Mamond tehsil in Bajaur tribal district.

Nawaz and Rahimullah were working in a marble quarry in Islam Dherai area in Mamond tehsil when a heavy mass of stone slid from the mountain and buried both of them alive.

As a result, Nawaz died on the spot while Rahimullah sustained serious injuries.Soon after the incident, the Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot and provided medical first aid and then shifted him to District Headquarters Hospital, Khar, in a precarious condition.
