Record increase in number of passengers at Islamabad airport

Over six passengers of 31,000 flights were used during the last one year Around 1.5 million passengers of 11,000 inbound or outbound domestic flights

Islamabad: There was record increase in number of passengers who used Islamabad International Airport during the year 2023.

The spokesman of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) on Tuesday said over six million passengers who arrived at or departed from Islamabad International Airport on domestic or international flights. “This is the highest number of passengers who used the airport it was made operational,” he said.

Over six passengers of 31,000 flights were used during the last one year Around 1.5 million passengers of 11,000 inbound or outbound domestic flights. Similarly, over 4.5 million passengers of 20,000 arrived at or departed from the airport in the last one year. As per estimates, the numbers of other visitors receiving or seeing off their dear ones were three times more than passengers.

Ambulances donated

Islamabad: In order to strengthen capacity building in delivering on healthcare through fast-track transportation for patients, MOL Pakistan Tuesday handed over ambulances to Kohat and Hangu administrations, says a press release.

A ceremony in this connection was held at Islamabad marked the formal handover of the vehicles by Gyorgy Loncsar, CEO MOL Pakistan, to Deputy Commissioner Kohat, Dr. Azmat Wazir and Additional Deputy Commissioner Hangu, Faheed Khan.

The ambulances will help in transportation of patients across the Kohat district to the nearest medical facilities and enabling the health department to respond effectively to natural disasters and mass casualty incidents.
