The Shalimar Express, en route from Karachi to Lahore, experienced an incident near the Bin Qasim area on Monday, resulting in three carriages derailing from the tracks.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported. Affected passengers were safely transferred to Karachi’s Cantonment Station via a relief train. Railway authorities indicated that the passengers resumed their journey to Lahore through an alternative train later in the evening, as swift restoration work was underway on the affected track.
Passengers traveling from Karachi on the Awam Express and the Hazara Express were rerouted to the down track. It was noteworthy that this marks the third incident in the vicinity of the Bin Qasim railway tracks within a short period.
