Two brothers shot dead in clash in Ittehad Town

Two brothers lost their lives in a firing incident that took place during a clash in Ittehad Town in the Orangi Town area on Monday.

Police said the incident took place in the wee hours of Monday near Khan Muhammad Chowk within the limits of the Ittehad Town police station. Following the incident, police and rescuers reached the scene and transported the casualties to the Civil Hospital, Karachi, where the deceased persons were identified as Hussain Amin and Farooq Amin.

It was revealed in the initial investigation that the firing occurred during a clash between two groups. The deceased brothers were employees of a chips-making factory and residents of Khan Muhammad Colony.

A spokesperson for the District Keamari police said that upon receiving information about the incident, Keamari SSP Arif Islam Rao formed a team under the supervision of Saeedabad DSP Salman Waheed for investigations and apprehension of the culprits.

After registering a case on the complaint of the deceased men’s brother, the police arrested a suspect identified as Mansoor, son of Liaquat Masood. According to the initial investigations, after bitter language was used during the clash, the arrested suspect along with another suspect, Shafi, son of Badshah Khan, fired shots, resulting in the death of the two brothers.

A total of five suspects have been nominated in the case, including Mansoor, Shafi, Ali Zaman, son of Badshah Khan, Imran, son of Badshah Khan, and an unidentified person. All the suspects are aged between 11 to 18 years. Raids are being conducted to arrest the other four suspects.

According to the police, the argument escalated into firing when attempts were made to stop a high-speed motorcycle. The Ittehad Town police said it was in constant contact with the complainant and every possible legal action would be taken to ensure that justice was served. The police have also placed the Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act in the FIR. Further investigations are under way.
