12-year-old girl dies in Lyari house cylinder blast
A five-year-old was killed after being hit by a heavy object on his head, and a person was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in Clifton’s Sea View area.
Three brothers and sisters were injured in a cylinder blast in a house near Lyari’s Khadda Market’s Aqsa Mosque late on Friday night, in which 12-year-old Nafisa, daughter Musa, succumbed to her injuries at hospital.
Five-year-old Shahzad, son of Gul Mohammad, was killed after being hit by a heavy object in his house near Surjani Town’s Sector 4D.
In another incident, a youth riding a motorcycle was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near Bahria Town Osmania Hotel on super highway. The body of the deceased was taken to the hospital. He is said to be 22 years old but could not be identified.
Meanwhile, Farhan Khan, 33, was killed in a traffic accident near Sea View. Mohammad Shan, 34, was killed in a car and motorcycle collision near Ghaghar Phattak Railway Colony. The deceased was a resident of the same area. The body of a 40-year-old unidentified man was found on the footpath near Mai Kolachi Phattak.
Meanwhile, the body of a 45-year-old man was found in his house near Paposh Nagar, Aurangabad, Khyber Mosque. The man died a natural death.
Separately, 25-year-old Tariq was injured in firing by robbers on resistance during a snatching incident near Sarjani-36 Lyari office. Zahid Ali, 25, was injured in firing when he put up resistance to a mugging bid near Prince Bakery in Malir’s Model Colony.
Meanwhile, two persons, Mohammad Mehran (32) and Adnan (20), were injured when unidentified persons opened fire near Mewashah Graveyard in Pak Colony.
Meanwhile, the police arrested eight robbers, including seven injured in alleged encounters at different places. In other places, the police arrested 37 suspects and recovered arms, drugs, gutka and stolen items from their possession.
The New Karachi Industrial Area police arrested two suspects, including one injured.
The suspects were roaming in Lyari River Sector 6-B near Kumharwada with the intention of committing crime when the police decided to stop a vehicle in a suspicious condition. A pistol, mobile phone and a motorcycle were recovered from the possession of the suspects. According to the police, the men have been identified as Shera alias Janu and Mohammad Ehsan, while their absconding accomplice has been identified as Imran alias Panda.
Police arrested three drug peddlers -- Abdul Rahim alias Sheena, Amir and Usman Ghani -- in three separate operations. Marijuana and gutka, mawa were recovered. Malir police arrested two suspects -- Muhammad Saleem and Abdul Hameed -- and recovered 2,385 grams of gutka and mawa from their possession, while police arrested more than 37 suspects in different operations during the last 24 hours.
